群衆に話しかけることは難しいです。そして、雰囲気を影響する要因はたくさんありますが、でも小さなグループや何千人の前で話せる素晴らしい話し手になるために、あなたがコントロールできることはいくつかあります。
Communicating to a crowd is difficult and there are so many factors that affect the atmosphere, but here are some things you can control and use to become a better speaker with small groups or crowds of thousands.
1. 観客を知る

彼らが聞く必要があるもの。私自身、芸能人、高校生、大勢の観客、少人数のグループ、子供の前で話したことがあります。皆同じ人間ですが、彼らに共感してもらうために変えなくてはいけないことはあります。
What do they need to hear. I have spoken to celebrities, high-school students, large crowds, small groups of leaders, children. People are the same, but some things you will need to change if you are going to relate.
メッセージは同じかも知れませんが、パッケージは違います。パッケージが心半分だと、どんなにメッセージが最高でも、特別な気持ちにはなりません。
The message might be the same, but the packaging is different. If the packaging is half hearted, it doesnt matter how good the message is, it doesnt feel speacial.
一つ確かな事は、誰に話していても、ベストを尽くす必要があるということです。私は５０人に対しても、１０００人に対しても同じように情熱的に話すように若いスピーカーにチャレンジしています。その部屋の人はあなたのものだ。そして、私たちが伝えるメッセージはわたしたちのものです。
One thing is for sure- you need to give your best no matter who you are talking to. I challenge our young speakers to speak passionately no matter if there is 50 people or 1000. You owe that to the people in the room. And we owe that to the message we are bringing.

Work out a style of notes that works for you!

私は色々違うスタイルのノートを使っています。絵がかかれたものから、色々な色でハイライトしたものや一字一句書き記したものまで！！
I’ve used a lot of different styles of notes. from drawings in a circle, to higlighting everything in different colours to writting out every point to writting out every word!!
あなたにとって効果的な方法を見つけてください。見やすいもの、すぐ見つけられるもの、気がとられないもの。ノートはただ助けるものであり、ノートの後ろで隠れないでください。ノートはあなたのかわりに話してくれません！あなたが話すのです。私は素晴らしいノートを準備してきているにもかかわらず、うまく話せなくて雰囲を悪くしてしまった人を知っています。
You have to work out what works for you. Something thats easy to see, easy to find your place, not distracting. remember notes are an aid-don’t hide behind them. They don’t speak for you- you do!! Ive seen people with amazing notes but not speak well and people with a couple lines and bring the house down.
またどのようなスタイルのスピーチをしているのかによって異なります。
It also depends of what style of speaking you are doing
- 教える場合、ノートがたくさんあっても良いです。
- its its teaching, then often you will have plenty of notes and thats fine
- 激励のスピーチなら、人と強いつながりがほしいので、多くのノートは必要ないかもしれません。
- if its a motivational talk, maybe not as many notes because you want to hold a strong connection with people.
3. 流れを理解する！

人の集中力には限界があります。通常は面白かったら１０分間ひきつけることができます。面白くなかったら、もっと短いです。
There is an attention span people have. Usually its 10 minutes if your interesting, less if your not so good.
つまり、人々をひきつけ続けるために、１０分ごとにあたらしいことをする必要があります。メッセージにビジュアルを足すことかもしれません。ポイントから、ストーリーに、冗談や観客とのやりとりかもしれません。
That means I need to change what I’m doing every ten minutes to keep peoples attention fresh. Could be as simple as adding a visual to the talk. Going from points into story, a joke, or an interaction with the audience.
一番大事なこおは、一つのポイントからどうやって次のポイントへいくかということです。練習してください。大きな声を出して。声に出すと、違ったりします（頭の中で話すよりも！）
One the most important things is how you go from one point to the next. Practice it. out loud! Things sound different out loud ( rather than just in your head)
4. ストーリーを練習しよう！！
Practice the stories!!!
これには想像力が必要です。練習して、磨く事ができます。お笑いの人がこれが得意です。彼らは毎日、私たちの日常の中のものを面白くひねった話を練習しています。お笑いの人は世の中の見方が違うからです。彼らをとおして、私たちも違った見方をすることができます。
This takes imagination. You can practice and develop that. comedians are the best at this. they practice everyday stories that we all relate to but somehow we realize how funny they are- because comedians see the world differently. And they have the ability to help us see differently as well.
（他の人の話をする場合は、彼らの許可を事前にとっておいてください）
(If you are going to use other peoples stories its always good to get their permission)
私は過去の話がたくさんあります。また、神様によって人生が変えられた人の話をたくさん知っているので、私が話す時は、感動するストーリーがたくさんあります。そのようなストーリーを話すことによって雰囲気を変えることができます。
I have a lot of stories from my past and I know a lot of people whose lives have been changed by God so I have so many moving stories to tell when I speak. Those kinds of stories can change the atmosphere.
私が１５歳のとき、毎週末、馬の糞を拾う仕事をしていた時、私は誰も聞こえない場所で馬にむかって話していました。馬の前でストーリーを伝える話をしていたのです。馬が私のメッセージに反応していることを想像していました。そのときは、私の夢が実現して、数百人の前で話すことは想像していませんでした。
When I was working a job picking up horse poo every weekend as a 15 year old, I would speak to the horses out in the fields where no one could hear. I would practice my stories on them. I would imagine them responding to my message. I didn’t realize that one day I would be living my dreams every week speaking to hundreds of people.
私にとってストーリーは人々が覚えることができて、人々が変わるためにインスピレーションを与えられるものです。特に日本で。他のものがうまくいかなくても、ストーリーをもっと探します！
For me stories are the thing that people remember the most and what inspires people to change, especially in Japan. When all else fails, Im going for more stories!!
5. 飛行機を着地させる
Land the plane.
イエス：心に語りかける能力があって、考えを理解することができた。彼の言葉は地球上の1/3の人口によって信じられてる！
Jesus- The ability to speak into our hearts and understand our thoughts. His word are believed by over 1/3 of the planet today!
つまりオチ（着地点）がちゃんとあること。ダラダラ話さない。同じポイントを繰り返さない、いったりきたりしない。
This means get to the point. Dont ramble- includes repeating yourself over and over, circling back to the same point, jumping between thoughts.
私は大きなポイントの間につなげる文章を練習します。しばらくすると自然にできるようになります。
I often practice the connecting sentences between major thoughts. after awhile this will be more natural.
ポイントはちゃんといいましょう！ミステリアスにならなくていいです。皆混乱して、スイッチオフんいなります。ポイントについて、実践的なことを伝えましょう。今の世代が求めているものです。
Just say the point! You don’t have to be mysterious. Its confusing and people switch off. Say the point and get to application because thats what this generation really wants to hear.
6. 応答でしめくくる End with a response.

変化を求めよう。心に語ろう。行動にうつしてもらう。それが話すことの意味。何かをかえるため。
Ask for change. go for the heart. get people to act. Thats the whole point of the talk! to change something.
皆がする質問は「じゃあ、何をする？」自分が終わる前に、その質問の答えを提供しよう！
The question people will be asking is ” now what do I do?” answer that question for them before you finish.
